SUMMARY OF DUTIES: Provide ET technical, logistical, and administrative support to the division for the efficient and cost-effective management of ET construction and maintenance projects
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS: • Has the overall responsibility for all Electric Traction related maintenance and capital improvement activities on the New York Division. • Assists the Deputy Division Engineer in the preparation of plans for ET improvements ensuring all projects are initiated using the department’s guidelines and that maintenance and construction programs support the existing schedule and maintain a safe and dependable environment for all train operations. • Must be intricately involved in the development of work activities, funding, spend plan and project schedules. • Coordinate maintenance and construction projects with other departments, control force levels on the division by advertising/abolishing craft positions. • Ensures regular inspections are made and the summary maintenance reports are provided to appropriate Amtrak management and the FRA. • Ensures all aspects of the physical plant meet or exceed current FRA standards. • Monitors the procurement status of all material and ensures proper installation of materials. • Provides input to safety plan and emergency response plans for the Division. • Implements safety plan for the prevention and elimination of personal injuries and hazardous conditions on the right-of-way.
WORK EXPERIENCE: • Demonstrated knowledge of ET construction, maintenance and regulatory requirements • AMT-2, NORAC, RWP qualified • Knowledge of track usage process • Working knowledge of B&B, C&S, Track and ET Departments
PREFERRED WORK EXPERIENCE: • Sr. Management, project management, inventory management, tech. supervision, effective communication, admininstration. • Planning/scheduling, budget/finance, field production methods, ET maintenance and construction methods, ET operations and procedures, spreadsheets.
PREFERRED EDUCATION: • Bachelors degree in engineering or related field, or the equivalent combination of education, training and/or experience
COMMUNICATION AND INTERPERSONAL SKILLS: Must have excellent oral and written communication skills.
