The Quality Manager ensures consistent product and process quality throughout the supply chain by working with customers, suppliers and internally through maintaining a quality assurance system, monitoring and analysis of performance and continuous process improvement. This position requires handling a broad range of tasks including:
Ensuring that the quality system meets internal, customer and regulatory requirements and is followed throughout the organization.
Monitor daily performance, evaluate current processes and procedures, and identify improvement opportunities and present recommendations to senior leaders.
Investigate customer questions, complaints and product rejections to determine proper course of action.
Developing key quality measurements encompassing customer, supplier and internal operations.
Provides quality-focused statistical reports for the Management team on a regular basis.
Provide quality, delivery and compliance data and documentation to customer.
Manage the quality department through instructing and supervising the quality inspector and other members of the quality team.
Administrator for the ISO certification.
Perform ISIR, PPAP, APQP, and capability studies.
Attend infrequent off-site trainings and meetings.
Requires Bachelor’s degree in related field or three years in a quality or process improvement role and five years in a leadership role.
Proficiency in MS Word, Excel, PowerPoint and Outlook.Capable of organizing, prioritizing, and multi-tasking.
Experience in LEAN, Six Sigma, TQM, ISO or other process improvement methodologies.
Ability to operate standard mechanical measuring equipment such as a scale, micrometer, and caliper.
Ability to read and interpret blueprints and know definitions of critical, major and minor characteristics.
Ability to identify inspections errors, report nonconformance, and initiate resolution.
Ability to plan and react to quality related issues including solid problem solving and decision-making.
Knowledge of quality procedures, processes and auditing techniques.
Knowledge of company product lines.
Good verbal and written communication skills.
