Geotechnical Department Manager
Has authority and responsibility for a service line within the branch. Is responsible for the long-and-short term profitability of the company and department, and maintains a good and safe working environment for the employees. They are also responsible for quality assurance within the department. The person needs to be reliable (responsibilities, tardiness, etc.) and have a good work ethic. They need to be able to cooperate with co-workers and clients and they also should be able to listen, understand and follow instructions. They must show respect for company property.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES include the following:
Maximizes long and short term profits for company and department
Performs and coordinates with the marketing department and branch manager
Supervises, hires, fires and evaluates department managers
Prepares proposals, invoices and reports
Coordinates personnel and equipment within the branch
Coordinates personnel and equipment between branch offices
Ensures progress in personnel development
Follows and enforces safety procedures
Other duties may be assigned
Directly supervises five to six employees in the Geotechnical Department. Carries out supervisory responsibilities in accordance with the organization's policies and applicable laws. Responsibilities include interviewing, hiring, and training employees; planning, assigning, and directing work; appraising performance; rewarding and disciplining employees; addressing complaints and resolving problems.

EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE
Bachelor's degree (B. A.) from four-year college or university; at least five years related experience and/or training. Florida P.E. needed
