ODOT's Pavement Services Unit is responsible for pavement design, pavement management, and pavement materials and construction on the state's road system.
We are recruiting for a pavement project delivery coordinator to join our Pavement Services Unit. This position manages consultant pavement design-related services and coordinates scoping and scheduling information of pavement preservation projects from planning through construction. This person serves as the technical resource for pavement consultants in regards to design methodologies/calculations, technical guidance publications, pavement standards and practices, pavement materials, and construction.

The successful candidate will become part of the state's management team.
Duties and Responsibilities:
Review pavement designs published by consultants.
Provide technical guidance and communicate department priorities to consultants.
Select consultants in coordination with the pavement design engineer.
Initiate and administer contracts with consultants, including coordinating with department contracting entities and negotiating contracts with consultants.
Ensure appropriate department resources are involved and follow appropriate procedures in selecting consultants and initiating contracts.
Coordinate and schedule scoping of pavement preservation projects.
Complete pavement designs on controversial and complex projects.
Compile and provide background project data to consultants.
Review construction contract documents for compliance.
Serve as a department representative for consultant design and construction-related questions.
Review and make recommendations for design schedules of regional pavement preservation projects.
Minimum Qualifications: A bachelor's degree in construction management, business administration, architecture, or engineering and four years commercial construction project management experience; OR An associate's degree (or comparable course work) in architectural, construction or engineering technology and five and one-half years commercial construction project management experience; OR Seven years of experience in architecture, engineering, or construction planning and five and one-half years of the experience must include commercial construction planning or project management.
Special Qualifications: Driving is an essential function of this position. A valid driver license and an acceptable driving record are required for this position. We will conduct pre-employment driving records checks on our final candidate(s).

Experience in successful customer service, consultant management, and/or contract management, including the ability to effectively listen and communicate with others.
Ability and experience in pavement asset management, pavement design, pavement materials, and pavement construction.
Experience in project management, specifically in timely submittal of deliverables in transportation design projects.
Strong organizational skills.
Demonstrated initiative to introduce new ideas and work systems in the workplace.
Typical office environment with occasional lab or field work required.
Occasional work outside of normally scheduled hours and overnight travel is required.
Workload includes making presentations to administration and various other groups.
Lab or field environment may include exposure to chemicals, solvents, dust, fumes, equipment, and machines associated with testing materials.
Occasional work at construction sites and materials production plants may include exposure to traffic, heavy equipment and machines, working in and around various structures including bridges, near or over bodies of water or cliffs, and during adverse weather conditions.
Work may require bending, stooping, climbing, walking up and down elevations and slopes, climbing ladders, and carrying equipment.
