Saint Francis University invites applications for a tenure-track position in general engineering to begin August 2018. The successful applicant will lead the development of a new undergraduate program in general engineering. In addition to teaching, responsibilities will include shaping a vision for the program, designing a curriculum, marketing the program to prospective students, reaching out to industry partners, and applying for ABET accreditation. Opportunities exist to collaborate closely with faculty in our ABET accredited environmental engineering program and our recently started petroleum and natural gas engineering program.
Candidates must possess either an earned doctorate in an appropriate engineering discipline (civil, mechanical, etc.) or a master’s degree with significant professional experience. Professional licensure will be highly valued. Demonstrated potential to excel as a teacher is essential as is a clear and practical plan for remaining professional engaged through research and/or engineering consultancy. Priority will be afforded to candidates who articulate mechanisms to engage undergraduate students in professional development outside the classroom.
