Job Summary: The SPC and commercialization Manager will lead the plants journey in developing, implementing and improving standard operating procedures. This role will be required to have strong communications between Quality, Operations, R&D, and Business Development. There are two primary roles. In regards to Statistical Process control, this job will need to take Quick Run Specifications currently developed and build “In process” tools to ensure Food Safety, Quality, and Low Cost products are produced at all times. Utilizing tools with six sigma, continuous Improvement, Lean, and other Operational Excellence initiatives like “Red Zone” to drive hourly employees to follow Standard Operating Procedures.
Essential Job Duties:
Statistical Process Control Management • Overall responsibility for SPC Program, Standard Operation Procedures, and In-process KPI’s. The SPC Manager develops, implements, and measures the effectiveness of Operations employees and equipment to reduce variations and improve process and results. • The SPC Manager must leverage “Red Zone” to enhance automation and data collection while also enabling best practice replication and Continuous Improvement Opportunities • Develops a cultural mindset of Discipline, Rigor and structure to support the Operational Excellence journey. • Create a culture with our programs to ensure our hourly workforce is actively participating in improving their work, the processes, our safety, Quality and Cost • Mentor and ensure that all personnel are familiar with operating processes and procedures, as well as meeting or exceeding HACCP and SQF requirements. • Ensuring an Autonomous Culture in the four pillars of Safety, Quality, Delivery and Cost. • Influence sister plants and functions in SPC journey and support the Meat Network and CTI
Compliance: • Knowledge of USDA-FSIS regulations and ability to work with USDA inspectors on an ongoing basis to ensure compliance to all USDA regulations and HACCP and SQF requirements. • Knowledge of other regulatory requirements, including OSHA and EPA/DNR. OSHA experience covering worker safety in a protein processing environment as well as ammonia based refrigeration. EPA/DNR as it pertains to plant discharges either by air or water. • Share responsibility for ensuring that all employees is adhering to the established specifications. • Understand and assist in addressing customer complaints or any in house quality issues. Leveraging improvements to SPC to insure the root cause is accurately identified and appropriate corrections and a follow-up program is implemented.
Commercialization Management: • Overall responsibility for plant operations side of the tests, trials, and new product launches in the Kentucky facility. • Ensure success with coordination of Operations personal and equipment to align with R&D needs and desires. • Develop measures of success to identify Risks and Opportunities with commercialization during the stage gate process. • Active participation with Commercialization meetings and discussions with Operations, R&D, Business Development and Customers • Streamline and improve Commercialization process with cross functional team
Bachelor's in desired
2+ years of proven, successful leadership of teams

Ability to remain flexible and adjust promptly and effectively during times of change
