This position serves as a Project Engineer in the Utility Engineering Division reviewing land development applications, analysis of efficient sewer and water design in compliance with the County Master Sewer and Water Plan, using Sewer/Water Gems hydraulic software, evaluation of developer agreements, negotiating alternate routes, tracking of the level of service and compliance with Development Orders, and developing Capital Improvements in advance of need. Responsible for day to day coordination and overall client satisfaction; while building strong client relationships. This position also requires considerable contact with County officials, contractors, engineers and other internal and external contacts and requires excellent public relations and negotiating skills.
Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering or related engineering field. Minimum of four (4) years engineering experience related to area of assignment. Must possess current Florida Professional Engineer (P.E.) License (may consider out-of-state P.E. License, with ability to transfer to Florida within one (1) year of hire date). Minimum of one (1) year as Engineer of Record. AutoCAD experience desired. Valid Florida driver’s license. Equivalent combinations of education and experience may be considered.
