CIVIL ENGINEERING PROJECT MANAGER

Qualifications & Skills:

Education:

Bachelor’s of Science in Civil Engineering required with a professional licensure of Professional Engineer (PE) licensed in the State of Tennessee.

Experience:

A minimum of five years’ experience in requested field and any necessary professional licensure.

Knowledge:

• Knowledge in land development, infrastructure design, and construction document preparation for roads, storm drainage systems, storm water management facilities, utilities-water and sewer, sediment and erosion control, and traffic control.
• Knowledge of the principles and practices of civil engineering and related design.
• Knowledge of principles and practices of research and data collection
• Knowledge of effective writing techniques
• Knowledge of AutoDesk CIVIL 3D a must.
• Knowledge of ArcMAP GIS, Adobe Sweets Package, Microsoft Office, Excel, Internet applications.

Skills:

• Strong interpersonal skills and ease with both telephone and in-person contacts.  Strong organizational and time management skills, including ability to handle multiple tasks simultaneously.  Facility with written communication, including preparation of minutes and short documents.
• Oral communication and interpersonal skills to explain guidelines and procedures clearly to the clients, citizens and stakeholders
• Creative problem-solving skills to gather relevant information to solve vaguely defined practical problems
• Ability to review plans and specifications
