Develop, apply and maintain quality requirements and standards for both product inspection and quality management systems in a manufacturing environment.
Serve as a primary resource to management for problem identification, resolution, loss reporting and continuous improvement.
Develop procedures and revise existing procedures as necessary.
Design and implement methods for process control, process improvement, testing and inspection.
Promote adherence to quality standards, test methodologies, quality plans, documents and procedures as well as records and objective evidence of activities.
Develop, collect and analyze quality metrics.
Support contract review to ensure that the necessary criteria and provisions are included in quality and process plans, issued to shop floor & suppliers.
Review suppliers purchase orders and establish supplier quality requirements based on customer requirements.
Final review of certification packages prior to shipment, as well as coordinating customer & government source inspections.
Participate in internal and external quality audits.
Pareto analysis of non-conformances and as needed perform Root Cause Analysis (8D or similar format) and track to closure.
Interface with supplier and customer quality representatives concerning issues and assure that effective corrective action is implemented.
Assist with product certifications and purchase orders for testing and outsourcing operations as necessary.
Generating writing, and/or reviewing In Process Inspection Forms for job activities.
Maintains QMS documented information including revision control and training/mentoring records and identifying and mitigating potential risks of change. Submitting and getting customer approval for changes when required.
Assist in calibration activities including electronic updates, monitoring for due/overdue gages & assuring only calibrated gages are in use.
Act as resource for training, promoting & monitoring of the QMS.
Ability to be self-directed, while working in a team environment.
Required Education and Experience:
Bachelor’s degree in mechanical engineering or manufacturing engineering or equivalent (or Associate degree in one of these fields plus minimum 5-10 years of industrial experience).
Experience in ISO9001:2015 QMS work environment
MIL I 45208, MIL-Q9858, NCA 3800 or Automotive exposure to Quality Management Systems and Tools, including PPAP’s, IMDS submittals, 8D or other formal corrective action systems.
Experience with manufacturing and inspecting of threads.
Proficiency in use of Microsoft Office documents including Excel, PowerPoint and Project Management Software.
Fastener machining or forging experience.
