The Quality Manager / Director is directly responsible for the design, establishment and implementation of quality management systems, processes and activities as it relates to StackTeck and our customers. These responsibilities include the development, implementation, training and maintenance of a business-wide problem solving/quality process and all supporting documentation as required. This position formally reports to the President and CEO; however, will get direction from a quality review board, consisting of the Senior Management Team.
Establishing quality and reliability standards by studying product and consumer requirements with other members of management.
Implementing a Quality Management System to improve all business processes to ensure higher-quality products/services delivered.
Driving root cause analysis and facilitating lasting corrective actions for issues discovered during mold testing
Assisting the creation of Non-conformance Reports (NCRs), root cause analysis, and preventative actions for the purposes of driving Continuous Improvement
Developing in-process product inspection standards by studying manufacturing methods and NCR data.
Developing standards for the disposition of finished product by devising evaluation tests, methods and procedures.
Creating and maintaining product quality by enforcing quality control policies and procedures, collaborating with other members of management to develop manufacturing and training methods
Preparing product and process quality reports by collecting, analyzing and summarizing information and trends
Driving continuous improvement principles by championing Six Sigma, Lean, 5S and other Quality initiatives
Performing internal audits that are aligned with StackTeck policies, practices and procedures
Manage the calibration process / system for all quality tools across the business
Providing leadership in developing and directing quality improvement initiatives across the company
Developing, implementing & maintaining proper methods to detect/prevent shipment of non-conforming products
Investigating customer complaints to determine root cause and drive corrective/preventive actions to solve issues
Bringing together cross-functional staff, driving the group to plan and formulate comprehensive quality procedures
Setting QC compliance objectives and ensuring that targets are achieved
In consultation with other managers, developing and implementing any additional quality control measures as required to meet specific internal or customer requirements
Leading, coaching and mentoring Quality Inspectors (in mold manufacturing and plastic part inspection)
Promoting quality achievement and performance improvement throughout the organization
Encouraging and assisting in the development of a culture of continuous improvement/problem solving
Responsible for Quality department budget and managing all costs
Along with the purchasing and outsourcing teams, develop supplier evaluation and incoming inspection processes.
Act as liaison / support between our Operations Teams and Customers in closing of Customer Complaints
University or College Diploma in Mechanical Engineering or a related field, or equivalent work experience
Minimum Five (5) years' experience as a Quality Leadership in a manufacturing environment
Preference is given to those with experience leading Quality in a precision machining environment
Experience implementing a Quality Management System
Working knowledge and proven results through the use of 6-Sigma, Lean and other Quality Improvement tools
