About the role
$99K- $122K (dependent on experience) plus 17% superannuation and leave loading
Fixed Term until 30th Jan 2022
The Centre Manager (CM) oversees and coordinates the operations and activities of the ARC Training Centre for Automated Manufacture of Advanced Composites. The CM provide high level support to the Centre Director and is expected to liaise with the industry and university partners and work collaboratively with Postdoctoral Researchers. There is opportunity to co-supervise PhD students involved in the Centre, if appropriate/desirable. The CM will play a pivotal role in establishing an ongoing and sustainable industry focused research Centre beyond the current five-year term.
About the successful applicant
To be successful in this role you will meet the following selection criteria:
Extensive experience and expertise in project management of engineering and industry based research projects
Evidence of successful management of relationships with industry partners
A PhD in Materials/Manufacturing Engineering or equivalent industrial experience with composites manufacturing
Level 9 (in addition to the above)
High level skills and experience in consultation, negotiation and conflict resolution
Advanced skills in project and risk management, financial and organisational planning at both strategic and operational levels
In-depth undertanding of ARC funding rules and related industry and university policies and procedures
