Amec Foster Wheeler is providing construction materials testing services for a number of projects throughout Newfoundland & Labrador, including the Lower Churchill Hydroelectric Project at the Muskrat Falls site, an 824 megawatt hydroelectric development located approximately 40km from Happy Valley – Goose Bay, transmission line construction projects, as well as projects local to St. John’s and Corner Brook.
Amec Foster Wheeler is currently recruiting Junior, Intermediate and Senior Civil Technologists/Technicians to join our construction materials testing team for these projects.
Candidates may be required to mobilize to the Muskrat Falls site or other project locations around the province on a rotation basis. Mobilization costs to and from the site and project accommodations will be provided.
Key responsibilities may include:
Attaining CCIL certification for concrete testing
Conducting laboratory/field tests and inspections and reporting test results for soils, concrete, and asphalt
Communicating effectively within a laboratory/field team environment
Calibrating, maintaining and repairing testing equipment
Adhering to all Site Safety Absolutes and working safely in accordance with Amec Foster Wheeler and Site Health and Safety programs
