Leads a team of professionals in efforts to exceed client expectations while actively participating in business development activities. Demonstrates a vision for growth of business line and has a passion for land planning and design. Responsible for business development and marketing of land development services and expanding geographic service areas. Plans, develops, and supervises engineering work relating to the design, construction and operation of heavy civil design and construction projects; including municipal, land development, and flood protection projects. Provides engineering expertise which may involve adaptation and modification of standard techniques, procedures and criteria.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
Leads or Assists Business Development activities;
Assists with the development and implementation of Land Development marketing strategic plan;
Participates in the Go/No-Go decision for project pursuits;
Leads development efforts for Qualifications based proposal packages;
Prepares and conducts qualifications and proposal presentation interviews;
Actively participates in industry organization(s) (i.e. ULI, ICSC, etc…);
Actively involved with community organizations;
Attends networking events and has significant business contacts within Lehigh Valley area.
Develops engineering contracts (i.e. EJCDC);
Demonstrates an innovative approach to key civil issues.
Manages and coaches Land Planning & Design Regional Service Leaders;
Supervises Project Managers, Project Engineers and other staff in multiple office locations;
Drive safety initiatives across Service Center.
Performs annual performance reviews and actively supports career development and goal attainment;
Conducts staff meetings to review workload, training and other staff issues;
Prepares training and hiring plans for Service Center;
Prepares resource management for civil projects and tasks including three-month Service Center resource forecasting, project-specific resource plans and staff sharing;
Responsible for operational efficiency of group including minimizing outstanding WIP and A/R by ensuring client milestones, budgets and expectations are met;
Monitors and reports to senior management on KPIs;
Manages key clients and projects including regulatory submission/approval process planning;
Assists in the development of regulatory submission and bidding documents;
Assists in resolution of client, contractor and regulatory disputes.
B.S.C.E. with at least 20 years’ experience with diverse experience in the following : site design, land development (residential, commercial, hospitality, industrial), municipal projects, storm water design, utility design (water, sanitary sewer, gas), and roadway design. Must have proven business development experience and working with regulatory agencies and consultants. Position requires experience in planning, developing and organizing projects or in researching areas of considerable scope and complexity. Strong interpersonal skills and organizational skills required.
