Come work for a leader in the American Public Transportation industry. Santa Clara Valley Transportation Authority (VTA) is recruiting for a Director of Planning and Programming.
This is an At-Will Executive Management position and serves at the discretion of the General Manager. The Director of Planning & Programming plans, organizes, directs, and administers the functions of the Planning & Programming Division, including Transportation Planning, the Congestion Management Program, Measure B, and grants oversight and administration. The incumbent is responsible for overseeing project schedules, budgets, and strategic objectives of the division.
THE IDEAL CANDIDATE:
The successful candidate will be a demonstrated leader in the management and oversight of multi-modal transportation planning; congestion management program and initiatives, including countywide transportation and land use planning; and programming and grants administration.
Sufficient education and increasingly responsible administrative and managerial experience in a large and diverse organization to demonstrate possession of the knowledge, skills, and abilities necessary to perform the above duties.
Development of the required knowledge, skills, and abilities is typically obtained through a combination of training and experience equivalent to graduation from an accredited college or university with a four-year degree in transportation planning, transportation engineering, business administration, public administration, or a related field; and extensive, increasingly responsible managerial experience in transportation and land-use planning, transportation funding, and working with local, regional, state, and federal administrative and elected officials.
Attainment of experience in a large public transportation organization or local or regional transportation planning agency is preferred.
