Nuclear Training Instructor Senior (Engineering)

The Engineering Senior Nuclear Training Instructor delivers Initial and Continuing Training to prepare employees for engineering duties. Coordinates and implements all phases of the Systematic Approach to Training in the Engineering Training Programs which includes analyzing job and task requirements, designing and developing training and evaluations, implementing training in various settings, and evaluating the effectiveness of the training programs. Performs self-assessment evaluations of training programs to ensure accuracy, effectiveness and adherence to requirements.
Develops and maintains technical training. Coordinates and implements the Systematic Approach to Training. Maximizes resource utilization by integrating industry materials and expertise.
Plans and conducts performance analyses/assessments of line activities and performance through observation and evaluation. Reviews assessment program results to determine trends. Focuses industry experience on improving human performance by reviewing and incorporating assessment program results.
Develops and evaluates training performance indicators.
Performs specialized activities such as: Vision database upkeep, coordinate/track Nuclear Training Department commitments.
Supervises students in all training settings to the standards of conduct prescribed on Nuclear Training Department procedures. Sets and reinforces management standards and expectations in all training settings.
Interfaces with the Institute of Nuclear Power Operations (INPO) during plant evaluations and accreditation activities.
Maintains technical expertise in assigned discipline. 3
A four-year Bachelor of Science degree in an engineering discipline or related applied science discipline from an ABET accredited institution plus eight (8) years of experience in engineering positions.
Any PVGS employee may be called upon to serve as a member of the Emergency Response Organization (ERO) and will be expected to fulfill their obligation as an ERO member.
Any PVGS employee may be called upon to support a refueling or short-notice outage. This includes line roles and responsibilities as necessary to execute outage activities. These are a condition of employment at PVNGS.
This position may require access to and/or use of information subject to control under the Department of Energy's Part 810 Regulations (10 CFR Part 810), the Export Administration Regulations (EAR) (15 CFR Parts 730 through 774), or the International Traffic in Arms Regulations (ITAR) (22 CFR Chapter I, Subchapter M Part 120) (collectively, "U.S. Export Control Laws").
