The Deputy Commissioner and Bureau Chief of Environment and Planning is responsible for four divisions within the Department of Transportation: The Long Range Planning Division, Environment Division, Multimodal Division and Freight/Logistics Division.

The preferred knowledge, skill, and abilities to satisfactorily perform job duties are normally acquired through at least ten (10) years of increasingly responsible management experience in transportation. Graduation from an accredited college or university with a bachelor's degree in urban planning, transportation management, public administration, environmental science, environmental/civil engineering or other closely related field is required.
