- Technical Knowledge: Serve as a technical lead resource for geosciences (environmental remediation, environmental site assessments, environmental due diligence), for relevant due diligence applications or amendments, PST corrective actions, TRRP evaluation process, and regulatory compliance audits and analysis. TCEQ CAPM certification and asbestos certifications are a plus. Texas Licensed Professional Geoscientist is strongly preferred
- Customer Service: Consults regularly with clients to determine project plans, contracts and schedules. Be focused on client/customer retention and development/growth. Conduct business development activities as directed and time allows
- Management: Independently oversees work performed in the field to help assure standard operating procedures are followed and performance standards are met. Independently directs the work flow and assignment of tasks within the Division. Prepares proposals and cost estimates for client consideration. Adjusts job methods and procedures to meet requirements of specific jobs. Oversees all aspects of Division contract work. Manages, plans, delegates, assigns, trains, and evaluates work of the Division staff. Reviews and implements safety practices
- Monitors performance of services provided by the Division to help assure effective and efficient operation and identifies opportunities for improvement. Supervises records maintenance of employees’ time and materials used; authorized payment of purchase orders for supplies and equipment; prepares reports reflecting progress, costs, and other administrative matters. Responsible for evaluation of the overall financial performance of the Division
- Skills: Familiar with the appropriate regulatory authorities. Knowledge of Phase I and Phase II environmental site assessment processes and ASTM protocols. Manage Division monthly and annual utilization and billing goals. Provide technical and managerial direction for problem definition, approach methodology, analysis of findings, recommendations, and implementation for complex or extremely complex projects and assignments. Responsible for managing staff, resources, technical direction, cost, schedule, performance, and quality. May manage teams both internal and external/contractors, estimates and schedules to meet client deliverables. Responsible for allocating resources among tasks and is the principal liaison with customer for business and technical matters. Coach and develop Division team members for professional development, training and personal growth
- Travel: Regional travel within the Houston area will be less than 40% of the time. Overnight travel within Texas, Oklahoma, New Mexico and Louisiana less than 20% of the time. Other travel throughout the United States possible
- Cross Training: Participate in department cross training program to develop skills in all environmental service areas
- Safety: Understand, adhere and participate in the Raba Kistner Health and Safety and Behavior Based Safety Programs and set a good safety example
- Team Support: Serve the division as a backup by conducting field inspections, preparing reports and other duties as needed by the division to ensure success
QUALIFICATIONS: - Must have 6-10 years of experience in the environmental industry with a range of experience in geosciences/due diligence (environmental assessments and remediation)
- Candidate must have a Bachelor’s degree or higher in environmental science/engineering, chemistry, geology, biology or related field
- Experience evaluating historical property uses, historical maps/aerials, conducting environmental property reconnaissance, identifying RECs, reviewing/comprehending basic site geology/hydrogeology, experience conducting Phase II site investigations/remediation, PST removal experience, sampling methodologies and VCP cleanup program navigation
- Must be able to identify and resolve problems in a timely manner
- Proven leadership in a team environment
- Must be able to effectively read and interpret information, present numerical data in a resourceful manner and skillfully gather and analyze information
- Proven experience managing multiple projects, producing accurate information while meeting deadlines
- Experience with Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Access, Publisher)
- Strong oral and written communication skills
- Must be able to work well with all levels of people within the organization and outside of the company
- Requires professional appearance, personable telephone communication, agreeable personality, and the ability to meet people and develop long-term relationships
- Must be able to operate standard field equipment and tools in a manner to support client needs and teach others
- Must be able to work beyond the normal work schedule when needed
- Possess valid Texas driver’s license and meet company’s auto insurability requirements
- Ability to interface with and between regulatory agencies and private industry
- Must be able to lift 25 pounds on an as-needed basis
- Ability to work independently and manage others on a job site
- 40 hour OSHA HAZWOPER
- If required, the ability to travel no more than 20% overnight stays
WORKING CONDITIONS - Primary conditions will be in normal office work environment. Secondary conditions will be field locations at various industrial/construction locations as required for field work supervision/task completion
- Work related responsibilities require travel to client offices or event locations, as necessary
