Mead & Hunt has an exceptional opportunity for highly motivated inspectors to conduct and document inspections of highway and bridge projects throughout Minnesota. Responsibilities include overall project and site management for transportation related projects; performing materials testing and inspections; assisting with client contact; tracking schedules and completion of specific tasks on project sites; completing change orders; verifying all construction activities are following specifications in contract documents and applicable standards; performing drafting tasks in various software programs as necessary. This position requires heavy lifting, working outside in a variety of conditions on a regular basis, and the ability to perform work independently. Travel to construction sites throughout the state is an essential function of this position; a valid driver’s license is required. Extended hours and overnight stays may be required.
Successful candidates will have the following:
At least two applicable certifications
AND one of the following:
A bachelor’s degree in construction management or related field
An associate degree in construction management or related field plus at least two years of relevant experience
No degree plus at least four years of relevant experience
Ideal candidates will have experience with any/all of the following: MNDOT standards and specifications; MNDOT construction projects; MicroStation and/or Geopak software; Microsoft Office software (Word, Excel, Outlook). The ideal candidate will also have the following MNDOT certifications: aggregate testing, bituminous street, concrete field testing, bridge construction.
