799 million. That's how many lives our products touch! NIBR Oncology is seeking an experienced software engineer to lead the development of solutions to support our data scientists. In this hands-on role, you will work collaboratively within a larger engineering team following Agile practices. You will develop and contribute to software solutions that marshal, transform and visualize genomic and other biomarker data from pre-clinical and clinical projects to enable data scientists to derive scientific insights more quickly. You will collaborate closely with end-users and work across disciplines to deliver the most impactful solutions possible.
• Collaborate and interact with scientists to understand the problem domain and identify opportunities to accelerate their work • Leverage and improve existing solutions for storage, registration and extraction of processed data sets • Contribute to development, optimization & automation of data engineering and analytics workflows • Research and recommend innovative new technologies, methods and systems to process, store and visualize data • Develop infrastructure and tools for building impactful visualizations to enable faster hypothesis generation and data exploration • Contribute to a culture of strong engineering practices
Desirable Requirements: • B.S./M.S. in computer science or bioinformatics. • Deep domain knowledge in bioinformatics and experience collaborating directly with data scientists • 8+ years of experience designing and delivering applications for automated data processing and visualization. • Experience architecting robust, maintainable and scalable multi-tier solutions • Experience with large-scale data processing, and data preparation • Ability to identify the most impactful new technologies and champion their adoption • Expertise with some combination of Java, React, Python, R, AWS, modern web frameworks, database development
