Job Technical Skills – Assists with engineering support including design and completion of engineering assignments associated with electrical engineering. Develops preventative maintenance schedules and procedures as they apply to electrical equipment. Provides technical support under direct supervision to substation personnel as they operate, troubleshoot and maintain equipment. Specific responsibilities include assisting with design and work order preparation, material selection, and updating specifications for associated substation equipment. May lead small projects with minimal guidance. Consistent and reliable attendance is required.
- Performs the design process, material acquisition, and scheduling of assigned projects.
- Assists with the implementation of LES engineering standards, standard materials, specifications, policies, procedures and guidelines for systems and applications.
- When directed, reviews and analyzes equipment test results, problems and failures and makes specifications for minor alterations to improve equipment reliability and reduce failure rates.
- Assists in preparing testing methods/procedures and training documentation for Technicians.
- When directed, prepares and presents reports with justification and documentation in recommending courses of action for capital improvement projects, asset management strategies, standards, maintenance procedures, work methods, materials, and guidelines.
- Perform tasks related to maintaining compliance with applicable NERC regulatory standards.
- Performs field visits to assess current conditions, future improvements, job progress, problems, potential changes, and/or other related issues.
