| Technical Program Manager Bureau of Watershed Management and Modeling Job Summary: Professional work supervising and coordinating all aspects of programs pertaining to regulatory services, water supply planning and assessment, watershed management and modeling, water resource evaluation, hydrodynamic and water quality modeling, groundwater modeling, and/or water resource restoration. Job duties include: - Conducts evaluations of natural systems using the latest developments in hydrodynamic and water quality modeling. Reviews current literature to assure competency of the District's modeling efforts. Implements improvements in the District's hydrodynamic and water quality models to best reflect changing paradigms in the technical understanding of the natural systems. Analyzes computer hardware and software application needs and problems to recommend solutions to improve modeling efficiency and effectiveness. Writes technical reports for publication and presentation to technical audiences. Reviews technical reports by others. Presents summaries and conclusions of projects to internal and external audiences. Communicates with District staff and external stakeholders.
- Coach/manage staff as required to maintain high level of technical skill, program overview and morale and to provide documented deliverables.
- Maintain program workplans in one, two and five year intervals, with project specific staff allocations at the one-year level and general staff requirements for the two and five year plans, and assist Bureau Chief with annual budget preparation and expenditure tracking.
- Ensure best practice by maintaining awareness and knowledge of developments in fields of hydrodynamic modeling, water resource development and optimization and watershed management.
