The Graduate School of Management at the University of California, Davis, is currently seeking an Assistant Specialist (100% time) from July 1, 2021 - June 30th, 2022 (with potential for a one-year extension).
The Assistant Specialist will work with faculty at the Graduate School of Management across multiple applied business research programs. The specialist will primarily work on technical research questions with strict priority given to tasks performed in support of the junior faculty at the Graduate School of Management. Tasks include web-scraping, natural language processing, help with distributed and cloud computing, working with very large datasets, and other types of data and technical analyses. The specialist will also take a leadership role, occasionally managing workflows of student assistants hired to aid them with their work.
The ideal candidate has strong interpersonal skills, has formal training in computer science (or related field) and business applications, and can work well independently and as part of a team.
