The College of Engineering is located at Temple University’s main campus, in the thriving city of Philadelphia – a city at the forefront of science and technology. The School of Podiatric Medicine, located in Center City, also has teaching, research, and healthcare facilities at the Health Sciences Center.
Temple University’s College of Engineering is continuing the expansion of its research and education endeavors, including the completely renovated two floors of the Engineering Building with a total of 25,000 square feet of state-of-the-art research, education, and office space, much of which is occupied by the Department of Bioengineering. Overall, our ABET-accreditated program includes an undergraduate student body of 200 and 50 graduate students. The core faculty is comprised of 4 Full Professors, 3 Associate Professors, and 6 Assistant Professors. We are particularly interested in mid-level candidates focusing in the areas of Neuroengineering or Biomaterials to further solidify our existing areas of strengths. The successful candidate’s laboratory space will be located at the Health Science Campus and the candidate will be expected to actively seek and establish close interdisciplinary collaborations with the Health Science Campus (School of Medicine, School of Dentistry, College of Public Health, Shriner’s Hospital for Children, among others). An important university-wide strategic goal in line with our department’s interests is to advance translational biomedical research and promote commercialization and entrepreneurship.
