The Telfer School of Management invites applications for a tenure-track faculty position in Management Analytics with a focus on analytics for societal good at the rank of Assistant Professor commencing on July 1st, 2024, or earlier.

Title of Position: Professor in Management Analytics at the rank of assistant.

Terms: Tenure-track position.

Duties: Duties will include in varying proportions: research, teaching, and academic service activities.

1. Research activities: Applications are invited from candidates with a strong potential or a proven strong capacity in securing competitive research funding, and who can maintain lofty standards of excellence with an active research agenda in Management Analytics. The ideal candidate will have a strong background, knowledge, and research interest in predictive and prescriptive analytics or other related domains such as Operations Research / Management Science, Statistics, Machine Learning, Artificial Intelligence etc. The candidate must also show potential to conduct high quality research and develop a strong, externally funded research program that will result in publication and participation in top journals and conferences, in supervising graduate students, and in offering various training opportunities.
2. Teaching activities include: i) strengthening quality teaching activities; ii) having excellent pedagogical practices and teaching-related scholarly activities; iii) providing an active contribution to increase our graduate programs and interdisciplinarity and iv) supervising students at the undergraduate and graduate levels.  
3. Academic service activities: The candidate will be an active member of the Business Analytics & Information Systems (BAIS) section. Administrative duties will be agreed upon with the section and the Dean.

Requirements:

• Education: Ph.D. in Management Science, Business Analytics, Data Science, Operations Research, Economics or in a related discipline.
• Language: English and/or French. At the time of tenure, a minimum passive knowledge of the other official language is required. The ability to speak and teach in both official languages is an asset.
• Work experience: A high-potential research program as demonstrated by articles published in high-quality and high-impact peer-reviewed journals in Analytics or related areas. Applicants are expected to demonstrate a track record or potential in attracting competitive research funding and an active engagement in the academic community. They are also expected to show strong teaching competencies at the undergraduate, professional, and graduate levels, as demonstrated by past teaching record and evaluations.

Candidates with research in management analytics and artificial intelligence, specifically those with applications for potentially broad societal impact will be prioritized.
