We are looking for a Lighting Product Research Engineer to join our Product Development team!
Take direction from the Product Manager to execute on product development roadmap projects and tasks as assigned.
Perform sustaining engineering tasks to alter or modify existing products.
Hold periodic design reviews to validate design direction with stakeholders.
Utilize 2D and 3D CAD software, such as SolidWorks, for component & assembly design.
Create product documentation to inform the manufacture of designed components.
Consult with Product and Applications Engineering on testing protocol of assemblies and subcomponents.
Wire, build, and/or modify products for design validation testing.
Generate and edit IES files and other related photometric/colorimetric data to ensure accuracy and compliance with industry standards, enhancing the quality of information published alongside our products.
Participate in historical design research and market research to create concepts and design strategies for products in development.
Create test plans, perform tests, document, and report the results.
Educational background in industrial design, mechanical or electrical engineering, lighting, or related field required
Strong knowledge of statistics and data analysis tools required
Experience in LED lighting or similar industry preferred
2+ years of product design/3D modeling experience, SolidWorks preferred
