In this role, the Fundraising & Workforce Development Intern will gain experience in prospecting new donors and community fundraisers, project management, and supporting workforce development initiatives. The Fundraising & Workforce Development Intern will support the Forging Foundation’s mission to engage academia and industry in meaningful partnerships to attract students to careers in the forging supply chain.
Primary Responsibilities:
- Assist with planning and execution of special events and activities
- Coordinate workforce opportunities for companies and schools
- Assist with donor communications and fundraising campaigns
- Donor database management using FIA’s CRM platform
- Draft correspondence, reports, proposals and donor appeals
- Assist with mailings, filing, and special projects as needed
- Conduct research on potential donors, strategic partners, and schools
Qualifications:
- Interest in learning about the fundraising and workforce development side of a non-profit
- Experience with Microsoft Office computer programs
- Positive attitude and willingness to learn
- Strong organizational skills and attention to detail
- Strong writing skills
- Ability to work independently
- Excellent communication skills and able to succeed in a team environment
